A Secret Ingredient

We all had sometime or the other been struck by a strange thought that there might be a supreme governing power, principle or whatever one may call it in this universe. We feel it and sometimes get fascinated by its works, but never do we try to push through the door of that room to explore the possibilities of that ray of light to touch our lives.

This universe has many languages, for example the language of geometry which includes many aspects of art and mathematics together, and that is why i am fascinated by the field of architecture.
In ancient times our ways of living were more towards spiritual and thus the urge of man to experience god has led him to create or rather say discover extraordinary possibilities for himself in the field of architecture.

World's first mathematician Leonardo Fibonacci discovered one of the most influencing and common patterns of nature, though he did not realized it at that time.
He realized the pattern by deriving a ratio which is now known to be as... THE GOLDEN RATIO.

1:0.618 is the ratio and 0.618 is referred to as the golden number.
Its use since ancient times have been observed in art and architecture all around the world, especially in European countries.

The great pyramid of Giza along with I.M Pei's Louvre Pyramid are both made using two world's most extraordinary numbers...Pi (3.14) and Phi (0.618) which is also known as the golden number.
Parthenon in Greece is also according to the golden ratio.

The basic point is that, being one of the most expressive and influencing people in the world, we architects and designers must feel it our duty to connect to the same higher source before creating something that is for others.

(2)The second part of examination is the aesthetic sensitivity test which tests a person's complete and in-depth knowledge about the subject, which can include the names of the architects around the world of different times and also the monuments or the buildings they made, the style of monuments around the world, some mathematical questions related to measurement and percentage, some common terms used in the field of architecture and some other such things. For every question in this part 40 seconds are provided and there are in total 40 questions. Also this part is also of 100 marks out of 200.

Compact Housing

Many people would often argue about the fact that small houses are not good, they are congested  and does not allow spacious living at all...
But i am gonna tell you that it's wrong to think like that. It completely depends upon the will of a person how he lives and such misconceptions also develop in people due to lack of information.
Trust me when i am saying, small and compact houses are good and also allow a person to live comfortably. According to the present day trends and lifestyles these types of small houses are and going to be in a great demand in future.
Having even a moderate amount of land, we can utilize it wisely by making compact houses....which also leaves us with good amount of area for garden and lawns which are very difficult to have in a house these days due to increase in populations and decrease in amount of lands for housing. Rapidly increasing market for "Smart Furniture" becomes a great factor for reducing the area in the house. Fold able and retractable furniture have a great use in kitchens and drawing rooms.

These ideas are revolutionary and people should have an open mind to accept them so as to live a healthy and smart life...
